Meriah Ward (they them) provides a space where you do not have to perform wellness to be taken seriously. Many clients come in feeling worn down from masking, carrying too much alone, or trying to function in systems that never made room for their nervous system, identity, or body. The work here is about building real safety, not quick fixes, so you can feel more steady, more clear, and more like yourself.

Care is collaborative and paced. We work together to understand what is actually happening beneath the overwhelm, shutdown, anxiety, or emotional intensity, and we move at a speed that respects your capacity. If medication is part of your care, it is approached with transparency and shared decision making. If it is not, that is also okay. The goal is always to support your autonomy while helping you feel better in your daily life.

Meriah specializes in working with neurodivergent clients, LGBTQIA+ clients, and people navigating chronic pain, chronic illness, disability stress, and complex trauma. Many clients are sorting through questions of identity, burnout, sleep issues, relationship patterns, or long standing shame. Sessions support you in finding language for your experience, building tools that fit your brain, and developing a more compassionate and stable relationship with yourself.

If you have had past experiences of being dismissed, misunderstood, or rushed, this work will feel different. You will not be asked to shrink your experience to fit a neat box. You will be met with curiosity, respect, and practical support so you can move forward with more trust in yourself.

Dr. Ward specializes in supporting clients with:

Chronic overwhelm, burnout, and shutdown

Identity exploration and queer/trans support

Trauma from attachment wounds or spiritual harm

Masking, executive dysfunction, and ADHD/autism fatigue

Nervous system dysregulation, anxiety, and panic

Chronic fatigue, pain, and feeling disconnected from the body

Relationship patterns and self-trust ruptures

Boundaries, self-compassion, and emotional resilience

What it’s like to work with Dr. Ward

Sessions with Dr. Ward are warm, validating, and unhurried. You’ll feel met as a whole person, complexities and all. Rather than following a rigid protocol, they work collaboratively to explore what’s showing up in your body, your relationships, and your self-talk.

Expect a mix of deep insight and practical strategy: you might spend one session understanding internal parts and the next brainstorming routines or accommodation tools that actually fit your life. Dr. Ward doesn’t rush you or perform “fixing”. Instead, they walk alongside you as you build trust in yourself.

Yes, this is a common starting point in sessions. We can explore neurodivergence together through a non-pathologizing lens and help you understand how your brain and body are actually working, rather than what they “should” be doing.

You never have to rush. We go at your pace, and I’ll never push you into sharing details you’re not ready to explore. Trauma work can happen through regulation, parts work, and body awareness, not just retelling.

I approach meds collaboratively. We talk openly about goals, side effects, and alternatives. I support deprescribing when appropriate and always center your autonomy.

Yes. These are central parts of my work. I don’t treat executive dysfunction as laziness or avoidance. I understand the cognitive and emotional toll of functioning in a world not built for you.

Absolutely. These conversations are welcome and often essential to healing.

Yes, this integration is core to what I offer. Your body, brain, and lived experience all deserve care.
